The hotel is perfectly located in the heart of York, right in the Shambles area opposite the Minster, making it very convenient for exploring the city. The rooms offer fantastic views of the Minister on the main floor and are equipped with great amenities, including a huge bathroom and a very comfy bed. The service was a bit lacking in a customer service approach but redeemed by excellent service from specific staff members. The dining experience, although not included for some, includes fresh-baked scones and a pleasant ambiance. The facilities are well-maintained, offering a comfortable stay overall.

I must say this hotel was a mixed bag for me. On the upside, the location was superb, right in the heart of York and close to all the attractions. The service was top-notch with some staff members going above and beyond to assist. However, the rooms left something to be desired with a dirty carpet and poor lighting, although the bed was quite comfy. The dining experience had its rough spots, especially the coffee, but the black pudding was a real treat.
